This new and innovative supplemental reading program enhances Voyages in English by promoting the development of essential reading skills while reinforcing the grammar and writing concepts taught in grades 1–8 of Voyages in English. Teachers introduce thoughtfully curated and engaging student readers while following a flexible five-step lesson structure that allows for the introduction of a new reader simultaneously alongside a new grammar concept or writing genre. This direct integration between Voyages in English and Reading in Action supports teachers as they follow the regular Voyages pacing while choosing a flexible Reading in Action implementation model that works best for their classroom. Reading in Action supports a learning center-based solution with small- or whole-group instruction.
